Club Training Information

Our club training is geared at providing our members with a regular running programme and help them participate at official road races.

We also want them to enjoy the races. So our training programmes, although they have a huge social element, are also geared at helping our runners comfortably and well within the cut-off times.

As a club, we aim to help our runners run within the following cut-off times at races:

5km:                35 mins 

10km:              1hr 10 mins

21.1km:           2hrs 25 mins

42.2km:           5hrs

Comrades:      12hrs

On days when our runners are running for pure pleasure and not running to qualify, they are more than welcome to run much slower than the above times.

As such, the above times are not prescriptive but are there to serve as guideline, especially if you want to increase your distance running.

Our weekend club runs are geared at helping our members to get adequate mileage on their legs in preparation for the following event distances:

  • 10km
  • 1km
  • 2km
  • Ultras

The club time trials happen once a week and are geared at helping members to:

  • Get quicker
  • Run comfortably when running quickly

Our time trials are 5kms and happen on a Wednesday at 17h30.
